什么是中秋节？ What Is Mid-Autumn Festival?
中秋节是农历八月十五的传统节日。人们常会赏月、吃月饼、提灯笼、讲故事，和家人一起团圆，庆祝秋天的收获。
The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. It is often associated with the full moon, family gatherings, mooncakes, lanterns, stories, and wishes for togetherness.
阴历（农历）: 阴历根据月亮的圆缺周期来划分月份。中国传统农历常被称为阴历，但它实际上是一种阴阳合历，也兼顾了太阳周年运动。
A lunar calendar follows the cycles of the Moon's phases. The traditional Chinese calendar is often called a lunar calendar, but it is more accurately a lunisolar calendar, as it also takes the solar year into account.

嫦娥奔月 Chang'e Flying to the Moon
这是传统传说，不是真实历史事件。 This is a traditional legend, not a documented historical event.
第一章 · 后羿射日
相传远古时候，天上有十个太阳，晒得大地干裂，百姓苦不堪言。神射手后羿力大无穷，他射下了九个太阳，只留下一个，让人间恢复了安宁。人们非常感激后羿，他也因此成了英雄。
Long ago, there were ten suns in the sky. The earth was scorched, and the people suffered greatly. Hou Yi, a mighty archer, shot down nine of the suns, leaving only one. The world returned to peace, and Hou Yi became a hero.
第二章 · 得到仙药
后来，后羿从西王母那里得到了一包不死药。据说，吃了这药就能升天成仙。但后羿舍不得离开妻子嫦娥，就把药交给她保管。
Later, Hou Yi received an elixir of immortality from the Queen Mother of the West. It was said that whoever took it would rise to heaven and become an immortal. But Hou Yi could not bear to leave his wife, Chang'e, so he asked her to keep it safe.
第三章 · 嫦娥服药
有一天，后羿外出，坏人蓬蒙趁机闯进他家，逼嫦娥交出不死药。嫦娥知道自己不是蓬蒙的对手，情急之下，她一口吞下了不死药。顷刻间，她的身体变轻，飘离地面，飞向天空。
One day, while Hou Yi was away, a wicked man named Peng Meng broke into his house and tried to force Chang'e to hand over the elixir. In desperation, Chang'e swallowed it herself. Immediately, her body became light, and she flew up into the sky.
第四章 · 奔向月宫
嫦娥舍不得离开后羿，于是选择飞到离人间最近的月亮上，住在广寒宫里。后羿回家后，得知此事，悲痛不已。他抬头望着夜空，发现那晚的月亮格外明亮，仿佛能看到嫦娥的身影。
Not wanting to leave Hou Yi too far behind, she chose to live on the Moon, the place closest to the human world. Hou Yi returned home and was heartbroken. Looking up at the night sky, he saw that the Moon was especially bright, as if Chang'e were there.
第五章 · 中秋遥祭
从那以后，后羿常在八月十五这天摆上嫦娥爱吃的瓜果和月饼，遥祭月宫中的妻子。人们也纷纷效仿，渐渐形成了中秋赏月、吃月饼、思念亲人的习俗。
After that, Hou Yi would place out Chang'e's favorite fruits and mooncakes on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month to honor her. People followed his example, and gradually the customs of moon gazing, eating mooncakes, and reuniting with family during the Mid-Autumn Festival took shape.
