A long time ago, freezing Pluto was listed as the 'ninth major planet' of the solar system. However, in the year 2006, astronomers set stricter rules for what qualifies as a planet. Deciding that Pluto was simply too small, they reclassified it and downgraded it into a cute 'dwarf planet.' Pluto lives in the distant, dark Kuiper Belt, mostly made of hard ice and rock. It has an inseparable buddy called its moon 'Charon,' and these two spin around each other in space just like dancing hand-in-hand. Even though it was dropped from the main planet team, when a space probe sent back a photo showing a giant 'heart-shaped ice sheet' on its belly, children worldwide were totally charmed. It remains a super popular star in space!
