Between Mars and Jupiter, there is a magical asteroid belt. It's like a huge 'cosmic gravel yard' crowded with thousands of rocks and metal fragments. The largest one is called Ceres, which is quite a big guy. Most of them are leftover 'building block pieces' that didn't form into planets when the solar system was born. If small fragments accidentally crash into Earth's atmosphere and burn up due to friction, they become the shooting stars we see in the night sky!
